I came here to keep in touch with all my friends who left GR after the censorship debacle. I read a little of every genre. I co-blog at Musings of a Bibliomaniac.
This book is a reminder that a great story does not necessarily need a sophisticated plot or complex characters. Often, the greatest of pleasures come from the simplest of stories.
Charlotte's Web is about an innocent pig named Wilbur, who befriends an unusually intelligent spider named Charlotte. And I don't care that it's supposedly a children's book, because I love how creative, meaningful and heart-warming it is.
I love the way the geese talk.
I love that Charlotte has a last name.
I love the plan Charlotte comes up with.
I love how Wilbur is so prone to fainting spells.
And I absolutely LOVE the end.
Charlotte's Web is a classic tale about friendship, written with a lot of heart and a lot of wit. A complete delight :)
